Can I Move Chats or Files Between Private and Project Workspaces?

Move chats, files, and folders between workspaces when you have the required access.

Yes. If you have the required workspace role, you can move chats, files, and folders between workspaces. Chats and their files move separately, so move any referenced files to the same destination workspace to preserve citations.

Move a Chat

Note: Moving a chat does not move the files it references. Move those files to the same destination workspace. Do not use Copy to for these files, because copies are not linked to existing citations.

  1. Select Activities in the left sidebar. If you want to view only chats, select Chats to show chats only.

  2. Select the checkbox next to the chat you want to move.

  3. Select Move to workspace at the top of the activities page, under the search bar.

  4. Select the destination workspace from the drop-down list.

  5. Select Move to workspace to confirm.

Move Files or Folders

  1. Open the workspace that currently contains the items, then select Files in the left sidebar.

  2. Select the checkboxes next to the files or folders you want to move.

  3. Select Move to at the top of the files space.

  4. A pop-up will open, allowing you to move the files between workspaces, and between folders. In the top left of the pop-up, select the destination workspace, or select the folder from the list.

  5. Select Confirm in the bottom-right of the screen.

Important Points to Note

  • To move chats, files, or folders between workspaces, you need an Admin or Owner role in the current workspace and an Editor, Admin, or Owner role in the destination workspace.

  • When you move a folder, Zeno also moves the items inside it.

  • If you do not have the required access, ask a workspace Owner or Admin to move the items or update your role.
