How to Set Up the Epona Integration

Written by Natali Petras

Connect Epona for Your Organization

Note:

  • Only users with an Admin or Owner role can complete this step. Once connected, the Epona integration becomes available to everyone in your organization.

Which version of Epona does Zeno integrate with?

Zeno integrates with Epona only when you are using Epona 365, the cloud-based version built on SharePoint Online within Microsoft 365.

Epona is available in two deployment types:

Epona 365 (cloud) is the current, actively developed version. It runs on SharePoint Online, with your documents and emails stored securely in your firm's own Microsoft 365 tenant and managed through familiar tools like Outlook, Word, and Teams. This is the version Zeno supports.

On-premise (legacy) is the older deployment, where Epona's DMS runs on a SharePoint Server hosted on your firm's own local infrastructure. Epona has since moved its solution to the Microsoft 365 cloud, so this is now a legacy setup. Zeno does not integrate with on-premise Epona.

If you're unsure which version your firm uses, your IT administrator or Epona contact can confirm whether you're on Epona 365 or an on-premise deployment.

Configure Epona in Your Zeno Environment

An Admin can set up Epona for use by the whole organization. This is simple to set up. To begin, log into Zeno. Then:

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Select Integrations.

  3. Next to Epona, click Manage.

  4. Select: Add Connection

  5. Click Continue.

  6. Enter a Display Name and enter the Tenant URL.

Click: Add Connection at the bottom left of the pop-up.

Epona is now enabled for your organization. Individual users can connect their own Epona accounts by following the steps below.

How to Use Epona in Zeno

Once the integration is enabled for your organization, any user can link their Epona account and start attaching documents.

  1. In a Zeno chat, click the Attach button (paperclip) at the bottom left of the chat input bar.

  2. In the top-right corner of the Files pop-up, click Integrations.

  3. Select Epona.

  4. Click Log in and sign in with your Epona credentials.

After signing in, your Epona account is linked. From now on, you can attach documents to any chat by clicking the attach button and selecting Epona to search for documents in your Epona 365 environment.

Good to Know:

The Epona integration works on an upload basis. It does not stay in sync with your DMS.

If a document is updated in Epona after you have uploaded it to Zeno, the version in Zeno will not update automatically. To work with the latest version, you will need to re-upload the file from Epona.
